Many people love sitting by the window when traveling because it offers a bird’s-eye view of the earth from high above. Have you ever noticed anything interesting? The power of nature is always remarkable—some have even discovered that among the world’s many islands, there are four adorable ones shaped like animals, with the closest one located in Yilan, Taiwan.
1. Turtle Island, Yilan, Taiwan
Turtle Island in Yilan is an active volcano known for its rich natural ecological landscapes, as every rock on the island is a remnant of volcanic eruptions from 7,000 years ago. If you want to visit the island in person, note that it is only open from March to November each year. Turtle Island is also a famous whale-watching destination. From a high vantage point, it’s not hard to spot its turtle-like shape sailing across the sea.

2. Fish Island, Brijuni, Croatia
When traveling to Croatia, most people only visit popular spots like Plitvice Lakes National Park, but next time, you might consider visiting Fish Island, one of the 14 small islands in the Brijuni Archipelago. This island group contains many archaeologically and culturally significant sites, such as over 200 discovered dinosaur footprints. But when it comes to cuteness, nothing beats the small island shaped like a fish.

3. Dolphin Island, Italy
This dreamy Dolphin Island (Li Galli / Sirenusa) is located in southern Italy between Capri and Positano on the Amalfi Coast. From the air, you can see numerous buildings and resorts—it’s a favorite vacation spot for Italians. Water activities like snorkeling are also very popular here. A trip here promises a comfortable and tranquil Italian-style gulf holiday.

4. Ecuador
Seahorse Island is located in the Galápagos Islands of Ecuador, South America. From the air, the island’s shape closely resembles a seahorse. This was once the site where Darwin developed his theory of “survival of the fittest,” leading some to call it the “Island of Evolution.”
