The world is home to many breathtaking buildings—some with histories spanning hundreds or even thousands of years, while others are modern structures that are equally awe-inspiring. This time, the Fever Photography Travel Channel takes you on a journey to explore Taiwan, uncovering some truly unique architectural gems that are sure to delight.
1) National Taichung Theater
Designed by renowned Japanese architect Toyo Ito, the National Taichung Theater features a seamless fusion of concrete curved walls and glass curtains. The front of the theater resembles a gracefully curved wine ewer, and the first-floor space boasts a ceiling height of nearly six or seven stories, making visitors feel small upon entering.
2) Lanyang Museum
Located in Toucheng Township, Yilan County, the Lanyang Museum was designed by Taiwanese architect Kris Yao. Its design is centered around the "uniclinal mountain" as the main element—a type of mountain with one steep side and the other gently sloped—which also reflects the geographical features of Yilan. The site was formerly the old Wushi Harbor, rich in cultural and historical heritage. Coupled with nearby wetland ecosystems, low-altitude native tree species, and forest landscapes, the area offers a diverse natural environment. This blend of human culture and natural ecology has made the museum a landmark of Yilan.
3) Nantou Zhongxing New Village Stamp Wall
Though not as astonishing as the previous two buildings, the Zhongxing Post Office in Nantou’s Zhongxing New Village has garnered significant attention for its unique exterior wall design. The wall features a large lantern display of over 300 stamp patterns, originally created for the 2014 Taiwan Lantern Festival. After the festival, the design was retained and has since become a local alternative photography spot.
