Nine-day Lunar New Year holiday rush: High-speed rail ticket booking and extra service info

Starting from midnight on January 4 (Friday), passengers can use the “T Express” mobile ticketing system, convenience stores partnered with the high-speed rail, the online ticketing system, the voice reservation system, or visit ticket windows and self-service kiosks during station operating hours to purchase tickets for the entire Spring Festival transport period in one go.

During the 2019 Lunar New Year transport period, Taiwan High Speed Rail has added 465 extra train services (240 southbound and 225 northbound), providing a total of 2,138 train services over the 12-day period.

The high-speed rail company reminds TGo members that if they wish to use bonus points to offset ticket costs, they should log in to the TGo member website, select the “Redemption Zone,” and proceed with the redemption for ticket purchases. Travelers who are not yet TGo members but are at least 18 years old can register for free by providing their national ID number and a valid email address through the “THSR TGo Members” website or the “Taiwan High Speed Rail” app. After completing the account setup, they can enjoy benefits exclusive to members such as bonus point accumulation and birthday gifts.

 

Taiwan High Speed Rail maintains the “Early Bird Discount” and “College Student Discount” during the Lunar New Year transport period. A total of 645 train services are eligible for the “Early Bird Discount,” accounting for 30% of the total services during the period. Passengers can enjoy discounts of 65%, 80%, or 90% if they book their tickets 5 to 28 days before their travel date. Additionally, 332 train services during the transport period are eligible for the “College Student Discount.”
