Graffiti is everywhere in Leipzig, but this colorful painted graffiti wall near Leipzig Hauptbahnhof Station is probably the largest and most vibrant street art I’ve seen on this trip.
The graffiti commemorates the events of Germany in 1989Peaceful
Revolution.
In October of that year, the people of Leipzig took to the streets in peaceful protest, marking the beginning of the end for the East German regime. The unarmed citizens stood fearless against the military, demanding reform and openness from the East German government through peaceful means. Their efforts ultimately led to the fall of the East German regime, the collapse of the Berlin Wall, and the reunification of Germany.
Leipzig is full of surprises—street music performances, graffiti, concerts, and more. It’s hard not to fall in love with this city :D
