Life in the backcountry is enviable
The food in the backcountry is captivating
Taitung is known as the land of the rising sun, and its dazzling, warm sunshine is its greatest asset. For those of us living in the western part of Taiwan, we can reach the backcountry via both mountain and coastal routes. Provincial Highway 9, also known as the “Green Highway,” traverses the Huadong Valley from north to south, with its continuous mountain ranges making it the longest highway in Taiwan. Provincial Highway 11, also called the “Blue Highway,” offers endless Pacific coastal views that nourish the soul.

‘With the sea, the breeze, and the hot springs, and the air filled with a relaxed and lazy vibe’—if you know how to enjoy life, come to Taitung to unwind!

Staying at the five-star “Taitung Naluwan Grand Hotel” is suitable all year round. In summer, you can enjoy the water; in winter, you can escape the cold and soak in the hot springs. With beautiful mountain and sea views, stunning sunrises and sunsets, and even amazing starry skies, it’s all top-notch. The hotel building features a unique “lean-to” triangular architectural style, and the interior uses large areas of transparent glass to skillfully bring sunlight and the surrounding mountain and sea scenery into the rooms, making it a new landmark in Taitung.

The Taitung Naluwan Grand Hotel is the designated accommodation for visiting heads of state. It is about a seven-minute drive from Taitung Railway Station and a ten-minute drive from the Taitung Night Market. Conveniently located near both mountain and coastal scenic spots, transportation is smooth and easy. Events such as the annual New Year’s Eve Sunrise Festival and the International Hot Air Balloon Festival attract many visitors. As Taitung’s earliest five-star hotel, it is always the first to be fully booked and is the top choice for accommodation.

Mom’s Travel has specially selected a six-person room type for only $4,599 per night, averaging less than $800 per person, with extra-large space and two bathrooms, perfect for gathering with multiple groups of friends.Reunite and catch up with old friends. If your whole family, including grandparents and grandchildren, comes along, there are interactive Wii game consoles, baseball dartboards, DIY activities, basketball machines, and other electronic entertainment that older kids will love. Parents can enjoy the therapeutic hot spring spa and the outdoor saltwater health pool—free for everyone to use. The hotel also offers convenient scheduled shuttle services from Taitung Airport or Railway Station and free indoor parking. We’re simply eager to welcome you!

Address: No. 66, Lianhang Road, Taitung City
Phone: 089-382-666

In Taitung, saying “Naruwan” is a warm greeting and welcome to people. The “Taitung Naruwan Hotel” is named after this phrase. Especially with its unique triangular architectural design, it looks as if it is opening its arms wide to warmly embrace every guest who arrives.

Located at No. 66, Lianhang Road, Taitung City, it enjoys a central location that makes it very convenient for heading to downtown night markets, train stations, airports, or embarking on one-day trips to mountain or coastal routes. When you see this exterior, don’t you get a sense of “time-travel”? It’s as if you’ve arrived at Macau’s luxurious resort district. Don’t forget to take photos in front of this grand and splendid building at night and show off to your friends.

From the moment you step into the lobby of Naruwan Hotel, indigenous artistry is showcased everywhere; geometric indigenous totems, various art installations, and displays reflect local culture and the hotel’s refined taste. The collection includes wood carvings created by Amis indigenous artist E-Dai, fully displaying the artistic talent of the indigenous people. The nine-year consistent elementary school textbooks integrate tribal culture—remember to bring the kids along to observe and learn.

Check-in at the counter
After checking in with the help of the friendly staff, you can freely enjoy the facilities in the hotel.

Deng~ling~~~ This time, the upgrade for this special package is FREE.

Check-in Up!The rooms blend indigenous culture with modern design aesthetics, offering not only spacious and bright layouts with ample room, but also a relaxing environment where guests can comfortably chat and unwind. Each double bed measures 150x200cm, and single beds are sized 120x200cm.

The bathrooms are also designed to be spacious and bright, featuring two separate wet and dry bathrooms.

At Naruwan Hotel, there are numerous leisure facilities that will leave you feeling refreshed and “glowing.” Guests can enjoy the sun and blue skies during a relaxing sunbath, while also experiencing a soothing and stress-relieving good mood — a luxury only found away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

[Outdoor Saltwater Wellness Swimming Pool]It is Taiwan’s first outdoor pool with a saline system. The water contains health-enhancing sea salt imported from Australia, which helps soften ordinary water quality. Not only does it promote blood circulation, improve metabolism, and rejuvenate your skin as you exercise, but it also leaves your skin feeling incredibly smooth and delicate afterward. There is also a children’s pool specially designed for kids.

In this pool area, whether under day or night skies, you’ll be constantly reminded: I’m really on vacation, no doubt about it!

[Indoor Beauty Hot Spring SPA]The water is sodium bicarbonate spring water at a temperature of 38–40°C, clear and transparent with no odor. It contains elements such as sodium, magnesium, calcium, potassium, and carbonate ions, which effectively calm and soften the skin. The warm spring temperature accelerates blood circulation and enhances natural metabolism, and can also effectively improve poor circulation in the lower body.

Don’t miss out on the various SPA massage function pools — be sure to soak to your heart’s content. Let your hardworking body relieve sore waists and tight shoulders here, and rediscover that fair and glowing confidence.

[Indoor Sauna]Main facilities include a jet bath, massage hot tub, steam room, oven, Finnish sauna, hydrotherapy jet, plus cold, warm, and hot water pools. It also specially introduces the Negative Ion Harmony Hot Spring, allowing you to fully enjoy the pleasure of a hot spring bath and promote deep sweating for enhanced internal circulation and metabolism. (This accommodation voucher package includes 5 complimentary usage vouchers. Guests can use their room key to enjoy each session for just $200 and have a great time!)

There is a separate shower area. To follow Japanese hot spring etiquette, be sure to rinse off before entering the bath.

For friends who enjoy cycling in Taitung, the hotel also provides five free 3-hour bike rental vouchers for Czech bikes. There are beautiful cycling paths around the hotel.

Performances at the Naruwan Theater will be updated periodically. Currently, it features live singing performances in the PUB area.

There is also a chance to arrange exciting performances by the Indigenous Cultural Park, allowing children to engage directly with and learn about Taitung’s indigenous culture. Dance and have fun together with the performance team — you’re sure to have an unforgettable evening and lasting travel memories.

Naruwan Art Gallery
The gallery displays many poems, calligraphy works, and comics. Naruwan Hotel’s Chairman Lin Yan-Huang supports local Taiwanese comics, and together with his wife, Art Director Qiu Wei-Shuyun, they created this exhibition space. Everyone is welcome to take a stroll, soak in the rich artistic atmosphere.

Naruwan Hotel has a dedicated children’s play area on the B1 floor. On hot days or when it rains, parents don’t have to worry about their kids lacking activities or having excess energy. A rest area is available nearby for parents. There are interactive storytelling zones, video game areas, basketball shooting games, slides, billiards, and table tennis rooms — fun for boys and girls, both big and small, all in one place.

After a day of playing outside, returning to the quiet suburban home in the evening and enjoying the hotel’s various stress-relief leisure facilities, or taking a walk along nearby famous trails lit up for the night, creates a very charming ambiance.

A wonderful day should naturally start with [European-style Western Restaurant] buffet breakfast — Western cuisineand ingredients from a five-star hotel. Naruwan Hotel’s food standards have even been personally tasted and approved by former presidents. And here we are, easily enjoying breakfast in the same restaurant as presidents — so happy ㄋㄟ

Jialulan Recreation Area
Located near the beautiful Highway 11 at the 157.7km mark, Jialulan Recreation Area is close to the Xiaoyeliu Scenic Area. Originally a waste soil disposal site during the construction of the Air Force’s Jhihang Base Airport, it was redeveloped using ecological engineering methods by the East Coast National Scenic Area Administration. It has now become a very popular recreation spot. A group of East Coast art enthusiasts gathers here annually for a craft market reminiscent of a traditional fair, which has received an enthusiastic response. Nearby cafes are often fully booked, so we recommend you come for a visit.

Green Tunnel
The Green Tunnel in Taitung City has long been famous. The dull image of typical highways is completely shattered here. Formed by hundreds of Formosan ash trees, the tunnel fills the air with refreshing phytoncides. You can leisurely bike or stroll through, enjoying this historically significant yet naturally vibrant and beautiful road.

Iron Flower Village Music Village
Iron Flower Village Music Village is the first official operational base of the Tourism Bureau’s “International Light Spots Project.” Co-created by Taitung musicians and artists, it serves as a music hub and a locally grown slow market — essentially Taitung’s music gathering place. With lush green lawns and tall old trees, it exudes a relaxed and tranquil vibe (Taitung County Tourism Website).

Transformed from a former Taiwan Railway cargo warehouse dormitory, Iron Flower Village has become Taitung’s first exchange stage integrating music, art, and cultural creativity markets (Taitung County Tourism Website).

Iron Flower Village hosts activities and markets every weekend, with even more events during summer vacation. Lantern decorations are featured at night, and the surrounding area includes uniquely decorated shops as well as live music performances on the grass.

Painted Hot Air Balloons
The highly popular painted hot air balloons are located at the entrance and inside Iron Flower Village. You can see the adorable sea of colorful balloons from the Taitung Story House (Eslite Bookstore) and Starbucks too. They are displayed every evening from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM (except on rainy days) (Taitung County Tourism Website).

Taitung has so many unique features — stunning scenery, fun activities, and delicious food — that I really can’t recommend them all. Featuring just one wouldn’t be fair either. Why not come and explore in person, and tell us which part of Taitung you love the most?

DuAnd of course, enjoy Taitung’s must-try snacks and delicacies to your heart’s content.

When you come to Taitung, there are many delicious foods you must try. For example, the chewy rice vermicelli noodles, the signature pork blood soup that’s fresh and tender, along with buns, glutinous rice balls, meatballs, and stinky tofu — all are famous queue-worthy snacks and unforgettable traditional flavors.

Red quinoa is contract-grown by the Paiwan indigenous people of Taimali and is rich in various nutrients. It’s a native Taiwanese "red gem" that can be steamed with rice for an even richer flavor. It also tastes great when simply sprinkled over dishes. If you blend it into juice, it makes a uniquely nutritious drink.

If you haven't left the city in a while; if you want to go on a holiday in the countryside; if you miss the ocean; if you haven’t had a break to relax in a long time — then you must choose this package. Stay for one night at a five-star hotel in Taitung City for six people for only $4,599, with no extra charges on Saturdays or during summer vacation. Let this trip take you effortlessly to Taitung, and rediscover its beauty through this journey.
