Another cherry blossom spot added to Alishan’s list of must-sees—delicate pink blooms burst into life against the crystal-clear blue sky, creating picture-perfect views no matter how you shoot them!

The pink-flowered Kawazu-zakura around the Xikeding Imagery area to the entrance of the Er Yianping Trail within Alishan National Scenic Area are currently in full bloom.

Huang Yuanming, photographer and moderator of “Wandering in the Clouds over Alishan,” noted that due to consistently higher temperatures and insufficient moisture from last year until now, the cherry blossoms on Alishan have had inadequate dormancy compared to previous years, resulting in fewer flower buds.

Currently, the blooming stages of cherry blossoms on Alishan vary greatly. If there are no cold snaps or low temperatures in the near future, it could affect the condition of the blossoms later in the year.

Moreover, the blooming pace of some Kawazu-zakura trees on Alishan is inconsistent—some trees already have petals falling while others are still in bud.
