After the Tourism Bureau launched its enhanced travel subsidies to an enthusiastic response, the Matsu National Scenic Area Administration has also introduced travel incentives for Matsu to sustain the momentum and boost winter tourism on the islands.

The promotion is valid until March 31, 2019. Non-residents of Lienchiang County traveling to Matsu independently in groups of two or more, staying at least three nights and four days at legally licensed accommodations in Matsu, and visiting two or more islands, can receive a subsidy of up to NT$1,700 per person.

For independent travelers staying within the same island area, the subsidy is NT$500 for Nangan, NT$700 for Beigan, and NT$1,000 for Juguang and Dongyin. If the actual accommodation cost is lower than the subsidy amount, the actual cost will be granted as the reward.

Travelers should complete the “Subsidy Application Form” on the first night of their stay, and request each night’s accommodation to issue invoices or receipts. On the third night, the accommodation will process the subsidy deduction and collect the “Subsidy Application Form” and “Subsidy Application Attachments.” Applications for reimbursement must be submitted to the Matsu Administration from the following day until April 15.

For group tours, travel agencies planning itineraries for groups of four or more with a dedicated staff member or guide, completing a two-night, three-day trip in Matsu, must submit the application form, passenger list, and itinerary details to the Matsu Administration for subsidy consideration three working days before the activity date. The deadline is March 25.
