Snoopy Amusement Park

It hasTaiwan’s largest grass skiing field, and it’s free, free, FREE!!

The “Fu-De Pit Sanitary Landfill” was originally Taipei City’s first large-scale landfill site before being replaced by the Nangang Shizihku Landfill. Once synonymous with garbage, Fu-De Pit was transformed in 2004 into the “Fu-De Pit Environmental Restoration Park”.Nowadays, “Fu-De Pit” is better known as the “Fun Grass Skiing Field.”Come and ski together—GO!!

To reach the “Fu-De Pit Environmental Restoration Park” from the direction of the Wufang Interchange, after passing the “Fengdongshi Temple,” you’ll see the park’s sign on the left turning into Section 5, Muzha Road, Lane 43. Follow the road and signs to get there.

Along Lane 43, you’ll pass through a large area known as the “Nightclub Area.” Even free-spirited Snoopy felt a little uneasy seeing such a vast space. Those with taboos or sensitivities should judge for themselves. Upon arrival, you’ll find a free parking lot. After parking, follow the signs toward the grass skiing field.

The “Fu-De Pit Environmental Restoration Park” is only open on Saturdays and Sundays, from 09:00–12:00 and 13:00–16:30.It will be closed in case of rain or if the weather forecast predicts a 70% or higher chance of precipitation. If you’re unsurewhether it’s open, you can call ahead to confirm: 02-8230-1969.

First, register with the staff at the bottom of the grass skiing slope, then line up in order. When it’s your turn, you’ll need to pull the sled to the starting point yourself—the sled has wheels and is quite heavy. Skiing down is exhilarating, but hauling the sled back up is exhausting. So, for families with younger children, it’s usually the parents who get worn out pulling the sled. Haha—after just two runs, our dad was already panting and asking for a break.

The sled can accommodate two people, kids and adults alike. We also saw many young friends joining in. The little girl went down twice with her dad, and by the third time, she bravely went alone. But dad still had to pull the sled back up—he got quite the workout that day, haha.

Look at this duo, screaming and laughing all the way down the slope—their mouths never closed from start to finish. Every time they reached the bottom, the girl shouted: “Let’s do it again!”

We’re really glad we came with dad—if not, I’d have been the one pulling the sled all day.

Sled speeds vary!! Thrill-seekers can pick faster ones. Just observe on-site or ask the volunteers to find the super-speedy ones. For the little girl’s solo run, Snoopy picked a slower sled—but even then, she said it was too slow. After a few runs, she gained confidence.

As long as you wait in line, you can ski unlimited times. On the day we went, there weren’t many people, so you could almost go again right after sliding down. We went about six times, but dad was too tired to continue, so we had to end our first grass skiing adventure. But it’s nearby, so we’ll definitely come back on a cooler day.

Nearby attractions include the Taipei Zoo, Maokong Gondola, Wufang Park No. 4, and you can also explore the old streets of Shenkeng. A one-day trip around Muzha is definitely a blast.
