Spring travel tips with a baby: Traffic safety comes first
Taking a happy family trip with your baby in spring—whether by plane or car—your baby’s safety should always be your top priority.
1. Every baby should have their own seat. Children under 2 years old or weighing less than 18 kilograms should use an infant car seat on the plane, and make sure the child is securely fastened.
2. Do not let your baby sit in an aisle seat on the plane. Babies like to reach out and explore, and can easily get injured by passing people or service carts. Always accompany your baby to the restroom.
3. When traveling by car, your baby should sit in the back seat and never in the front passenger seat. Make sure to lock windows and doors within your baby’s reach. Remove all toxic substances such as detergents from the car interior.
4. Keep heavy objects inside the car stowed away. Small but heavy items can be placed under the seat so they won’t fly forward during sudden braking. Likewise, suitcases and other items in the car must be properly secured.
