The biggest Christmas event in northern Taiwan every year is undoubtedly the New Taipei City Christmas Town, featuring an opening show, light-themed performances, superstar concerts, and more. This year marks the eighth edition of the 2018 New Taipei City Christmas Town, with the theme “Galaxy.” There will be four major light zones — from shipping container spaces and amusement parks to cartoon carnivals — each area is fun to explore and great for photos.

Every year, the “Love 'Sharing'” urban Christmas event organized by the Uni-President Group has chosen Milan as this year’s theme. From 11/16, you can see various themed installations at Uni-President Department Store in Taipei and Dream Mall in Kaohsiung.
On the evening of 11/16 at 18:30, the “Love 'Sharing'” lighting ceremony will take place, illuminating the Purple Wish Christmas tree — inspired by Milan’s famous stained glass windows — and the surrounding Christmas light displays. Qingmei Tiandi, comprising Taichung Eslite Greenway and Qian Art Museum, holds a Christmas event at the end of November every year. With a different theme each year, they design exclusive Christmas decorations and installation art. In line with the recent popularity of the Qian Art Museum, last year’s theme was “Dream Village,” where visitors could lie in bed and admire the moon.
