The Taipei Municipal Yuanshan Children’s Amusement Center grew up with many people. After it closed in 2014, it was successfully transformed into the Yuanshan Nature Scenic Park last December.

Recently, the Taipei City Government completed the beautification of the surrounding embankments. The zebras and giraffes painted on the walls are incredibly adorable and eye-catching, alongside coffee cups and Ferris wheels—whimsical designs that bring back childhood memories.

From the former zoo and children’s amusement park to the later children’s amusement center, it was a joyful memory for many residents who grew up in the '50s and '60s. This embankment mural design is inspired by the zoo and children’s amusement park.
The entire riverside area has become incredibly cute and full of childlike charm.
On the embankment side facing the riverside park, the theme is the zoo, featuring a joyful animal party where zebras, elephants, and giraffes gather happily together.
The children’s amusement park is one of the most cherished childhood memories for many.
The embankment side facing the city features a children’s amusement park theme, with murals of Ferris wheels, bumper cars, and carousels—all beloved rides for kids. It also depicts many children, using bright color blocks and vivid hues to take everyone back to those happy childhood days.
Even the floodgates and gatehouses have been beautified.
