Photographer Peter Racz captured images of a frozen lake in Russia at -23°C, a major challenge for both the equipment and the photographer.

Photographer Peter Racz recently traveled to Lake Baikal in Russia to shoot photos. Working in -23°C cold weather, he shot for 13 hours each day, presenting a significant challenge for both his gear and himself.

Located in southern Siberia, Russia, Lake Baikal is the largest freshwater lake in Asia. Each winter, it freezes over with ice up to 1.5 meters thick, yet the water remains incredibly clear, creating stunning beauty in its frozen state.

According to research, Lake Baikal is one of the oldest lakes in the world, having existed for millennia. It is known as the "Pearl of Siberia" and was designated a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site in 1996.
