Hong Kong is just about a 1.5-hour flight away from Taiwan, making it one of the most frequented travel destinations for Hong Kong people, even attracting many to immigrate there. American photographer Andrew Haimerl currently resides in Taiwan for work and uses his lens to capture the authentic sights of the locale, with the nighttime scenes below being some of his favorite shots.
Haimerl mentioned that after working in the area for some time, he discovered some interesting spots to photograph. The rooftops of certain buildings in Taipei offer views where the neon lights of the city can be captured — one of his favorite places to shoot.
Haimerl describes Taitung as a special place — a quiet town that provides easy access to beautiful beaches and enchanting mountains, and is the dream retirement spot for Taipei residents hoping to strike it rich.
Haimerl notes that Kenting is a popular travel destination in spring. As the weather warms up, people head to the beaches to swim, and the night markets are filled with unique dishes.
As for Jiufen, it was once an old mining town occupied by the Japanese. Now it sits quietly by the sea, illuminated beautifully at night.
