Photographer Dávid Bacsa recently embarked on a roughly one-week road trip around Iceland. Captivated by the stunning local scenery along the way, he took numerous photos and shared them online with the public.
Iceland is an island nation in the northern part of Europe and one of the five Nordic countries. It covers an area of 103,000 square kilometers but has a population of only about 320,000, making it one of the countries with the lowest population density in the world.
Due to its geographical location, Iceland experiences frequent volcanic activity, yet the resulting landscapes are incredibly spectacular. The country also boasts numerous glaciers, mountains, and geysers. Situated near the Arctic Circle, it offers the chance to see the Northern Lights at certain times of the year.
One night, Dávid Bacsa checked the Northern Lights forecast and saw that the likelihood was at a medium level. He set up his tripod and waited. Within minutes, the mysterious green glow appeared on the horizon and lasted throughout the night. He and his travel companion then drove around the area, photographing various displays of the aurora from 9 p.m. until around 3 a.m.
