Two years ago, Jonas Hornehøj brought his mom’s camera to Thailand for a three-month internship, during which he fell in love with photography. Today, the 24-year-old Dane’s passion for photography remains undimmed, but the equipment in his hands has undergone a dramatic transformation. No longer content with flat perspectives, he has embraced aerial photography, offering viewers breathtaking views of the Asian landscape from a whole new vantage point.

From the vibrant colors of river reflections to the serene beauty of hidden lagoons, Hornehøj’s photos are marked by vivid hues and meticulously crafted compositions, showcasing the stunning scenery of Asia from fresh and unique angles.

One of Hornehøj’s most unforgettable aerial shots was taken in the Philippines. “I had planned to visit the area near Mayon Volcano in Legazpi for an off-road activity. Known as the country’s most active volcano, Mayon has a perfectly conical shape—but when we arrived, the weather was less than ideal, with light rain falling. I was worried about whether I’d get the shots I wanted, but suddenly, the clouds parted, and a beautiful sunset appeared before our eyes!”

Another memorable holiday in his life was spent on Danjugan Island in the Philippines. “It was like a little paradise, surrounded by beautiful coral reefs, home to unique wildlife, and filled with a sense of seclusion.” He enjoys living like a local, and during his travels in China, he experienced a culture vastly different from his own while marveling at the diversity of China’s landscapes.
