While chasing the sunrise, don’t forget the beautiful moments of dusk. Sometimes, on clear days or just before a typhoon, the cloud layers may offer a chance to witness breathtaking sunsets that paint the clouds crimson, transforming into a magnificent sea of fire. Here’s a list of the most stunning sunsets across Taiwan we’ve compiled for you.
The sunset in Guanshan has been rated by CNN as one of the 12 most beautiful sunset spots in the world. The afterglow before the sun sets reflects on the sea surface, with the sky changing in countless hues. The azure sky turns into a yellow-blue gradient as the sunset paints it, creating a scene so beautiful it leaves ripples in your heart and lingers long in memory. Aside from the viewing platform, there are many cafes along the coastline where you can enjoy coffee while taking in the beautiful sunset.
Editor's note: Entry to the Guanshan Viewing Platform requires a fee: NT$60 for adults, NT$30 for children
Viewing platform address: No. 17-1, Binxing Road, Hengchun Township, Pingtung County, 946

Little Great Wall Trail (photo by A Yun)
When people think of sunsets on Green Island, the first place that comes to mind is usually White Sand Bay, where you can watch the entire sunset disappear over the horizon — truly beautiful. But let me let you in on a little secret: Little Great Wall is also a great spot to watch the sunset. Many people come to the Little Great Wall Trail to catch the sunrise, as the sun slowly rising above the coastline is a spectacular sight. At Little Great Wall, you can climb up to the observation deck to take in the endless expanse of the trail, and also watch the sun dip behind the mountains.
Taiwan is home not only to breathtaking sunrises but also to magnificent sunsets. The endless beauty of the setting sun makes you want to pause, clear your mind, and simply enjoy the view. Watching the golden sunset sink behind the rolling mountains or into the vast ocean is incredibly relaxing and healing.
