This year’s opening ceremony featured a variety of exciting performances paired with a creative lighting launch ceremony, unveiled by distinguished guests to kick off the glamorous Night Cherry Blossom Festival. On February 17, there will also be a Cherry Blossom Picnic Day & Flower-Loving Cinema event. Additionally, surrounding businesses have joined the event to offer various promotions and benefits. Moreover, those who follow the Lohas Night Cherry Blossom Festival’s Facebook fan page can receive festival commemorative gifts.

Northern Taiwan is home to a wide variety of common cherry blossom species, including mountain cherry, kanhizakura, yaezakura, Showa cherry, and Yoshino cherry. From late January to mid-March, different varieties of cherry trees bloom successively. In the Lohas Park area of Neihu, kanhizakura usually bloom first, followed in sequence by yaezakura, Showa cherry, and Formosa cherry. Walking upstream along Neigou Creek, you’ll find rows of cherry blossom trees, hailed as the most beautiful cherry blossom river in Taipei City. The park authorities have specially installed lights to make the blossoms glow at night.
