Kaohsiung now has 3D painted landscapes too！ Adorable dolphins frolic at Nanhiao Fishing Port

3D painted landscapes can now be seen in Kaohsiung too！ The Nanhiao Fishing Port in Miao Tuo District, Kaohsiung, has recently completed the first phase of improvement work for the "Coastal Light Corridor." In addition to enhancing the landscape environment and safety of Miao Tuo Fishing Port, recreational facilities such as painted walls, a 3D dolphin-painted ground, and a seaside promenade have been added, making it a new spot for visitors to take photos and have fun.

Nanhiao Fishing Port, renowned as the No. 1 winner of the “Love Bound for Life” series among Taiwan’s Top Ten Charming Fishing Ports, has suffered from aging facilities due to salt damage from the nearby sea since its completion in 2002. Therefore, improvement work began last year, including upgrades and additions such as a bicycle rest area, misting fans, a 3D dolphin-painted ground, a lounging pavilion, and a fun-painted wall. These enhancements allow residents and tourists to enjoy the coastal scenery in a safer and more beautiful environment.

In addition, various areas of the fishing port’s “Coastal Light Corridor” are paired with Hokkien-language explanations, offering the public a more traditional way to learn about the local area, close to the Miao Tuo fishing village. Moreover, visitors can combine their trip with a half-day tour to nearby Laidi Mountain Nature Park, which features unique mudstone badlands, to enjoy the natural scenery and geological ecology.
