Qixi Valentine’s Day is approaching, and the Green Landscape and Environmental Beautification Division of New Taipei City Government hasplanted over 3,000 symbolic roses and other seasonal flowers like cockscomb flowersin Banqiao Rose Park and Sanchong Rose Park, creating a love-themed park suitable for dates where couples can stroll and take pictures.

Roses are a symbol of love. The only two rose parks in New Taipei City were originally named for their abundant rose plantings, but in recent years the number of roses has gradually declined. To restore the former glory of the rose parks, the city’s Green Landscape and Environmental Beautification Division specially planted roses in various colors—including red, white, pink, yellow, and orange—to create a vibrant and romantic atmosphere.

Xie Hongwei, Director of the Green Landscape and Environmental Beautification Division of New Taipei City Government, said that using common seasonal plants like roses and cockscomb flowers can bring simple, romantic happiness to parks. In the future, the city government plans to plant herbs and fragrant flowers in parks across New Taipei City to create naturally healing and blissful spaces, offering residents more recreational options.
