New attraction in Nantou!“Zhongtai World Museum” now open, free admission for one month

Nantou has a new attraction to offer. The newly completed“Zhongtai World Museum” and Woodcarving Annexhave officially started trial operations to promote Buddhist art. Free admission is available to the public until September 14.

The Zhongtai World Museum primarily showcases Buddhist treasures, featuring cultural relics ranging from India’s Gandhara period to China’s Ming and Qing dynasties. Through its diverse collection of artworks, visitors can learn about Buddhist history and culture while also appreciating Buddhist art.

In light of the current Pokémon craze, the Zhongtai World Museum has specifically stipulated thatPokémon GO cannot be played inside the museum, and photography is not allowed except in the first-floor lobby. Visitor limits are set at 3,000 people per time slot for the main museum and 300 for the annex.

To give back to the local community, after official opening, residents of Nantou County can enjoy a 50% discount on admission with valid ID. Monks, seniors aged 65 and above, children under 7, and individuals with disabilities can enter for free upon presenting valid identification.
