As a brand that has developed in the Chinese market for over a decade and enjoys an excellent reputation, Garmont will officially launch its 2013 Spring/Summer new arrivals at the Asia Outdoor Exhibition in the ancient city of Nanjing this year.
Every year, Garmont carefully studies market demands and trends, investing significant manpower and effort into new product development. Some of the new products are too "new" for us because our styles often lag behind the cutting edge by one step. For example, at the 2011 Nanjing show, we exhibited a new model from the climbing series — the entire shoe was red or green, featuring sneaker-style laces that extended to the toes, a one-piece leather tongue, paired with a sole that looked "far too un-outdoorsy," which left us feeling quite out of place. How could Garmont release such shoes? Are these really outdoor footwear?
This year, when we look at the market again, we see that major brands are all selling similar shoes. Trends are always at the forefront, but classics are shaped through time and refinement. At this year’s Nanjing outdoor exhibition, you will see a new product that, at first glance, may remind you of the retro “Huili” shoes popular in the 70s and 80s, but it is indeed Garmont’s latest model. There’s no other way to put it — this shoe is like the 2011 climbing series Sticky N Beast, far ahead of the current trend curve.
Each year, our company introduces one or two new products for market launch, and every year we also consult with our dealers to develop a special China edition at a discounted price. Some of these new products gradually become classics, such as the Montello and Zenith hiking shoes, or the 2011-launched Montmont, including this year’s LinboweiBu and the 981 new running shoes, all of which have sold very well. General Manager Ren Yulong said: “At this year’s Nanjing exhibition, I can confidently tell everyone that there will be more new arrivals than in previous years. Among them, there will be trend-driven designs that may leave you amazed, as well as future classics. Stay tuned!”

3. Classic models get an upgrade ! Are you a fan of Flash and Eclipse? Be sure to head to E3500. Say goodbye to your favorite old friends, because they’re about to be redesigned.
