Launch Ceremony of the China Fitness Mountains Mountaineering Race
2012Year7Month11Day, the launch ceremony of the China Fitness Mountains Mountaineering Race was successfully held. The event was jointly organized by the Chinese Mountaineering Association and the Chinese Scenic Areas Association, marking the first collaboration between China's mountaineering and outdoor sports industry and the scenic areas sector. The race follows the "Mountaineering Competition Rules of the Chinese Mountaineering Association", takes national fitness as its theme, combines professional competitions with mass sporting activities, and aims primarily to popularize mountain and outdoor sports, showcase the charm of China’s famous mountains, promote the protection of natural resources and ecological environments, and advance the sustainable development of China’s scenic areas. It has introduced the national event slogan: “A Hundred Famous Mountains, A Million Dreams!” The race will be held annually at renowned peaks that meet the standards of China Fitness Mountains.
The China Fitness Mountains Mountaineering Race is currently the largest themed touring mountaineering competition in China. This year in9July, Huashan Mountain—one of China’s Five Great Mountains, known as the Western Sacred Mountain—will host the opening leg of the race, while Hengshan Mountain, the Northern Sacred Mountain, will be one of the race’s stops. Leaders from the Chinese Mountaineering Association, the Chinese Scenic Areas Association, the Management Committee of Huashan Mountain Scenic Area, and the Management Committee of Hengshan Mountain Scenic Area attended the launch ceremony. At the event, the leaders jointly unveiled the China Fitness Mountains Mountaineering Race. Well-known actor Yin Xiaotian attended the ceremony and was appointed as the event’s ambassador.
