The 2012 Asia Bike Show was grandly held at the Nanjing International Expo Center from July 26 to 29. The first two days (July 26–27) were open only to trade visitors, while the last two days, which coincided with the weekend (July 28–29), were open to the public.

Responding to the fast development of China’s sports cycling market and accurately grasping industry trends, the Asia Bike Show was launched in 2011 in collaboration with Messe Friedrichshafen GmbH of Germany. It became the first professional exhibition in China focused on the sports cycling market—the 1st Asia Bike Show.
As the Asian sister show of EUROBIKE (the Europe Bike Show), the 2nd Asia Bike Show maintained its high-end positioning. It provided a platform for industry communication and brand showcasing, and built the most professional trade connections and the most stunning visual experiences for visitors. Compared to 2011, this year’s Asia Bike Show saw significant growth in scale, covering an area of 24,000 square meters, attracting 238 exhibitors from around the world—an increase of 66.7% over the previous year. Overseas brands accounted for 80% of the total exhibitors, making the show even more international, high-end, and professional.

The 2012 Asia Bike Show featured numerous renowned domestic and international bicycle brands, offering a panoramic view of the industry’s vibrancy. The “In-show Exhibition” has always been a focus of industry media attention. The bikes in this section demonstrate the pinnacle of the global cycling world through their exceptional performance, exquisite craftsmanship, dazzling designs, and cutting-edge technology. In 2012, those once-unattainable luxury bikes and products integrating high-tech concepts and innovative designs will once again take center stage, treating audiences to a visual feast. According to statistics, about 45 luxury and sport bikes worth a total of over RMB 6 million will be displayed in the In-show Exhibition area this year. Among them, the professionally customized Pearson bike, valued at RMB 280,000, is currently the most expensive in the In-show Exhibition area, featuring a unique design and great presence. Mercedes-Smart is participating for the first time, showcasing its new E-bike—a pedal-electric bicycle that combines high-tech intelligence with outstanding design, which has won the international Red Dot Design Award—Best of the Best. LOOK will display the track bikes used by the Chinese cycling team at the 2012 London Olympics, giving a sneak peek into the unique atmosphere of international competitions. LOOK will also bring the 2013 new model of the Cofidis team’s Tour de France bike, featuring a 100% carbon fiber monocoque frame with a streamlined, efficient design.

This endurance race is a team-based road bike circuit relay, starting at 9:30 AM on July 28 at the Nanjing China Green Expo Park.
