1. First Cabin Tsukiji
Operated under a hotel chain, it has redefined the capsule hotel. The reception area is essentially merged with a bar, resembling an airport business lounge. Though the exterior is rather glamorous, the capsules themselves remain very simply equipped. While there are no desks or closets, the overall environment is clean, neat, and comfortable. It’s very close to Tsukiji Market and also near the shopping district of Ginza, making it a top choice for budget-conscious travelers.

2. 9h nine hours
The first branch opened in Kyoto in 2008 and has since expanded across Japan, including to Tokyo’s Narita Airport. Each reservation is for nine hours, consisting of one hour for a shower, seven hours of sleep, and one hour to relax. Each capsule is equipped with an international-brand control panel that lets you adjust the lighting and sound, as well as set an alarm clock to automatically turn the lights on and wake you up.

3. Women Centurion Cabin & Spa
As the name suggests, this capsule hotel is exclusively for women. The capsules are spacious and stylish, and come with a TV, tablet, and aroma diffuser. It’s designed to meet the needs of businesswomen.
