The Beaume Northmen, who have always advocated freedom and the pursuit of happiness, also introduced their newly launched shoe and backpack series in 2013 for outdoor enthusiasts.
In the mid-15th century, golf became popular in Scotland. This uniquely charming outdoor sport attracted many young people away from Scotland’s “national pastime”—archery. As a result, in 1457, King James II issued a ban on the sport of golf. However, this did not stop the young people who loved the game. A tailor from a northern Scottish border town, Joseph Beaume, secretly founded the “Golf Freedom Club,” leading a group of sport-loving, nature-aspiring youths to play golf together. He also crafted clubs and equipment for the members. The open spaces and the sea breeze allowed these young people to better understand what perseverance, challenge, and freedom truly mean.

It was precisely because of the persistence and efforts of these young people that the ban was eventually lifted. Joseph Beaume also found new joy in making clothing and gear, designing and creating many ingenious sportswear and equipment items that made sports more comfortable and convenient.
This story laid the foundation for the Beaume brand. To this day, the Beaume brand continues to carry forward and inherit the spirit of those Scottish youths from back then—pursuing freedom, staying true to oneself, and challenging the elite. It also embodies the essence of the sport that the Beaume brand seeks to bring to people—unrestricted, with the heart flying free.
