In 2013, the Austrian Charity Ski Race took place at the Genting Ski Resort in Chongli. Over 400 guests from around the world gathered over the weekend to enjoy the thrill of skiing. The Austrian Charity Ski Race is the largest and most internationally influential ski event in China to date and has been held for four editions.
The Austrian Charity Ski Race was organized by ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Beijing. On March 2, 111 participants from 20 countries competed together to support the Little Flower Care Project. This charity organization, based in Beijing, is dedicated to helping orphans and infants suffering from serious illnesses. All proceeds from the race were donated to the project.
Mr. Wolfgang Preisinger, representative of the Salzburg Ski and Snowboard Association, served once again as the race director.
Despite challenging slopes with some sections icy, the competitors fearlessly rose to the occasion. Among them were Austrian Commercial Counselor Anslai and Ambassador Irene, who proudly represented the city of Kitzbühel. Mr. Peter Marko, Director of Tourism for Kitzbühel, impressively achieved the best result in the race.
The atmosphere at the event was lively. DJ Martin played dynamic beats in front of a hand-carved ice bar, while spectators cheered along the finish line to the rhythm. The intricately crafted ice bar, a visual highlight, offered delicious Austrian pastries and drinks such as Hungarian goulash and mulled wine to warm up the slightly chilly crowd.
The evening continued with the traditional Austrian Hüttenabend event. The Tyrolean music band AlpinBanda delivered a special performance that brought the event to a crescendo. A major charity auction was then launched. The auction alone raised 180,000 yuan for the Little Flower Care Project.
It was an Austrian night filled with the aroma of wine, warmth, and rich tradition. We celebrated together with family, friends, and generous sponsors. The 2013 Austrian Charity Ski Race concluded successfully thanks to the joint efforts of the participants, sponsors, and especially our main sponsor, Mr. Ekkehart Stremitzer of AME International Holdings.
