Through direct participation in and support for top domestic and international climbing competitions, KAILAS aims to promote the development and technical exchange of climbing both in China and abroad, helping Chinese climbers narrow the gap with their international counterparts and step onto the world stage. This has always been KAILAS’s dream. It is reported that in September 2013, the International Olympic Committee will select one sport from eight finalists—including climbing, martial arts, baseball, and softball—to be included in the 2020 Olympic Games. To boost climbing’s chances, International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) President Marco Scolaris recently announced a change to the original proposal, which only included lead climbing as an Olympic event, expanding it to a combined format featuring bouldering, lead climbing, and speed climbing.
As a professional climbing brand, KAILAS appreciates and supports the long-term efforts and contributions made by the IFSC to popularize and develop climbing around the world, and strongly backs climbing’s inclusion in the Olympic family. As newly elected IFSC Vice President Li Zhixin said, climbing’s inclusion in the Olympics would have a positive impact on Asia and China, and Chinese climbing already has its own strengths. Let’s look forward to climbing in the Olympics together.
