Its existence is really important for Cheng Kung University students because it’s so affordable, and there are no hipsters or posh crowds taking over the space. It’s the perfect spot for casual meetings, club study sessions, or quiet studying. In that sense, I think this café is truly one of a kind.

Actually, before they told me about it, I had tried their latte, but I didn’t feel like writing about it at the time. Later I thought, I’ve been to cafés with strong single-origin coffee but not-so-great espresso, so after reading the comment, I went back especially to try the single-origin—they roast their own beans, after all.

There’s also a lively shop dog at the entrance.

Though he’s a bit camera-shy.

The café has a spacious and bright interior.

And there are power outlets available.

The prices on the menu are quite reasonable too.

I was a bit hungry that day, so I ordered a muffin.

The muffin has a crispy texture, and the flavor is quite pleasant—perfect for a light bite. The Kenyan AA offered a nice touch of acidity and nutty notes that I enjoyed.

I actually prefer their single-origin coffee over the latte. After finishing this cup, I felt I should write and share it. As a taste of memory for Cheng Kung University students, it deserves to be passed on. Dongfeng Coffee’s single-origin is genuinely good.
