Top 10 Scenic Spots Along the Dajia River Voted on — Gaomei Wetlands Takes the Top Spot

The “Top 10 Scenic Spots of the Dajia River” voting campaign organized by Taichung City announced its results on the 5th, with Gaomei Wetlands taking first place, Wuling Farm coming in second, and third to tenth places going to:

Dongfeng–Houfeng Bicycle Path
Dajia Chenlan Temple
Guanguan Scenic Area
Daxue Mountain Forest Recreation Area
Lishan Scenic Area
Tai’an Railway Cultural Park
Shigang Dam
Xinshe Baileng Canal

In addition, on the 10th, the “Tourism & Lifestyle Festival” and “Music Carnival” along the Dajia River will be held at the Civic Plaza on Caotun Boulevard, featuring local agricultural specialties and gourmet foods from the Dajia River area, as well as performances by local cultural and arts groups that blend the artistic essence of indigenous peoples, Hakka, and Minnan cultures along the river. The mayor stated that the Dajia River is inseparably linked to Taichung—playing a crucial role in water supply, power generation, and ecological conservation—and hoped everyone would “remember the source when drinking water” and cherish everything the Dajia River brings to Taichung.
