Old Boeing 737 turned into a restaurant — China’s first airplane restaurant opens in Wuhan

China’s first restaurant converted from an old passenger aircraft has opened in Wuhan, with an investment of about 170 million yuan. After completing renovations at the end of August, it attracted large crowds eager to see the plane at its location in Dusseldorf Square. The restaurant has sparked quite a buzz.

According to an interview with the UK’s Daily Mailthe owner, Li Lang, named the plane “Lily Air.” Several years ago, his experience at an airplane restaurant in Sweden inspired the idea. He then purchased the retired aircraft from Indonesian low-cost carrier Batavia Air and renovated it.

The restaurant mainly serves Western cuisine, with prices around 1,300 Taiwan dollars. The aircraft, which could originally carry 128 passengers, now accommodates 70 guests as a restaurant. To meet aviation standards, the selection of service staff is very strict — all must complete etiquette training before officially joining the team.
