Typhoon Meranti Approaches – Quick Guide to Closed Forest Recreation Areas

Typhoon Meranti is intensifying, and some forest recreation areas have been closed. Mountain roads are prone to landslides and other potential hazards during rainfall. During the typhoon, the public is urged not to visit mountainous areas to avoid danger. The currentForestry Bureau announces the following closures of forest recreation areas:

Northern Taiwan:
▪ Lala Mountain Nature Reserve (Closed from the 14th)
▪ Guanwu National Forest Recreation Area (Closed from the 14th)
▪ Shei-Pa National Park (Closed from the 12th)

Central Taiwan:
▪ Taipingshan Forest Recreation Area (Closed from the 13th)
