For the third consecutive year, Kaohsiung’s Tianliao Moon World has built its event around the theme of “fantasy.” This year, it incorporates the two major festivals — Mid-Autumn and Halloween. In addition to combining the dramatic badlands landscape with performances by light and shadow dancers, there will also be a giant 5-meter-tall Moon Goddess lantern. Starting October 8, you can experience the fantastical atmosphere of the Moon World’s otherworldly terrain illuminated by colorful lights.

The “2016 Fantasy Moon World” features two major series of events: “Moonlight Tales” and “Haunt Up Wicked.” “Moonlight Tales” includes folk stories, dice games, and the fun-filled “Howl Awards,” where participants with the longest wolf howl can win cash prizes. “Haunt Up Wicked,” themed around Halloween, offers not only challenge games and escape rooms but also the highlight event — the “Ghosts Gone Wild” night tour of the Moon World. A large number of “zombies” will make surprise flash appearances at random times, giving visitors the feeling of being in a horror movie.
