China News Service, Kunming, Nov. 27 (Reporter Shi Guanlin) — Jin Feibao, a renowned explorer from Yunnan, announced in Kunming on the 27th that he will run extreme marathons on all seven continents over the next two years, showcasing the spirit of “Colorful Yunnan · Fitness for All” to the world.

Jin Feibao, a native of Kunming, Yunnan, is the fastest person in the world to complete the “7+2” extreme expeditions — climbing the highest peaks on all seven continents and trekking to both the North and South Poles — in just 18 months and 24 days.

At the press conference held in Kunming that day, Jin Feibao introduced the extreme marathons on all seven continents, which include 14 of the most representative races: the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore, the Sahara Desert Ultra Marathon, the Boston Marathon, the Everest Marathon Nepal, the Gold Coast Marathon Sydney, the Madagascar Marathon, the Atacama Crossing, the Antarctic Ice Marathon, the Sahara Desert Marathon Tunisia, the North Pole Marathon, the London Marathon, the Great Wall Marathon Beijing, the Amazon Jungle Marathon, and the Eurasia Marathon.

Jin Feibao noted that the requirements for extreme marathons are higher than those for regular marathons, with participants required to carry loads of more than 10 kilograms. The 14 events cover a variety of terrains, including urban areas, cultural heritage sites, rural regions, deserts, uninhabited zones, coastlines, and rainforests, making them extremely challenging.

Shen Junbin, Deputy Director of the Yunnan Provincial Sports Bureau, explained that Jin Feibao will take the “Colorful Yunnan Fitness for All Project” logo to all seven continents to promote Yunnan’s fitness initiatives and showcase the vibrancy of “Colorful Yunnan” to the world.

It is reported that Jin Feibao will depart for Singapore on November 28 to participate in the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore on December 1, marking the start of his challenge to run extreme marathons on all seven continents.

This two-year campaign to run extreme marathons on all seven continents will conclude with Jin Feibao applying to the Guinness World Records headquarters to be recognized as the first person in the world to complete the “7+2”, all seven continents, and both polar extreme marathons.
