At ISPO Beijing in February 2014, a reporter from HowToTrip visited the VASQUE booth to conduct an exclusive interview with their Pacific Sales Director, George Brown.
HowToTrip:What was the concept behind designing such a shoe that leans more toward urban casual wear?
Vasque:This shoe uses a very soft, special material that is extremely comfortable and elastic. It molds to your foot when you step on it and bounces back when you lift your foot. It’s positioned as a fast-hiking shoe. Additionally, the sole has very high friction. One tester was able to traverse steep rock faces sideways without any issues, and it’s also suitable for basic climbing.
HowToTrip:What are your expectations for attending ISPO?
Vasque:Everyone comes to the exhibition with different goals. Our main objective is to introduce our new products and technological advantages to our dealers.
HowToTrip:We heard you’re retiring this year. Any plans for after retirement?
Vasque:I’m going back to university to study something interesting like archaeology. Also, I want to travel the world and do some fun things before I get to the point where I need a wheelchair.
