Apart from the bustling Keelung Night Market, mountain-and-sea-surrounded Keelung actually boasts many scenic natural spots that are all within close proximity, making it perfect for a one-day weekend trip. In the area around Dawu Mountain, the lush green Lover's Lake is an ideal place for a leisurely stroll and nature walk. It also connects to nearby hiking trails, Eagle Rock, and Dawu Fort, allowing you to take in all of Keelung’s mountain and sea views in one go.

Lover's Lake gets its name from two connected lakes—one large and one small—that resemble a pair of devoted lovers. The emerald-green lakes are surrounded by vast expanses of verdant forests. There are walking paths around the lake, multiple viewpoints, and even a suspension bridge that spans the lake, offering various perspectives to admire its beauty. Though compact in size, it offers tranquil natural scenery that soothes the soul.

Walking along the trails around Lover's Lake, you’ll soon come across a European-style fort and viewing platform not far away. Due to its elevated position, the platform not only provides a sweeping view of the beautiful Lover's Lake but also offers a breathtaking panorama of the sea.
