The Daily Mail, UKA recent report revealed high-calorie foods commonly consumed while traveling. Many people might think that since it's a rare trip, they should definitely try the local cuisine. However, this mindset may not be entirely correct. Exploiting travelers' psychology, these low-quality, high-calorie foods continue to flood the market. Gaining a lot of unhealthy weight over a seven or eight-day trip— is it really worth it?

For example, France’s chocolate-filled pastry, pain au chocolat, contains 300 calories in just one small piece, while a slice of pepperoni pizza can be as shocking as 1,000 calories. American fries and burgers clock in at 629 calories according to this survey, while British fish and chips reach 838 calories.

Ramen has about 500 calories, but more importantly, the report points out that a single bowl of traditional ramen may contain more sodium than an individual should consume in an entire day.

The report advises travelers not to overeat and to stick to healthy food choices even while on the road. Additionally, packing simple exercise tools like jump ropes in your bag, saving taxi fare to buy a good pair of shoes, and staying well-hydrated are also recommended.
