Poetic Autumn！Just Sleep Goes Whimsical with Hand-Painted Kids’ Poetry Cards

Just Sleep has been actively promoting literary activities. This autumn, themed “Never Grow Up: Rediscovering the Joy of Childhood with Your Little Ones,” from October to December, the hotel will invite children's groups to engage with literature through poetry readings led by poets, fostering cultural enrichment. Guests staying during this period will receive hand-painted poetry cards by Chen Li and Hong Shuling, encouraging them to imagine freely. They can also choose a favorite children’s book at Hoo’s Secondhand Bookstore or borrow a poetry collection for free, boosting their literary literacy.

Chen Huifang, General Manager of Just Sleep, said that this year the brand is focusing on parent-child interaction, using poetry experiences in autumn to bring heartfelt, whimsical joy to both parents and children. Hong Shuling, Professor at the Graduate Institute of Taiwan Literature and Department of Chinese Literature, National Taiwan University, who has just released her new poetry collection 《In Search of Cracks in the World》 and children’s poetry collection 《The Cat in the Fishbowl》, shared that her inspiration for writing children’s poetry comes from spending time with her child. She also expressed high praise for Just Sleep’s dedication to literary activities, humorously adding that the hotel has rekindled her passion for poetry.

To help more children engage with literature from an early age, Just Sleep’s Parent-Child Poetry Sharing Session is organized in collaboration with a charity. On 10/22 and 12/17, children from Mingchuan Elementary School near National Taiwan University’s Zunxian Hall and the Wanhua Children’s Welfare Service Center will be invited. The two most childlike heavyweight poets, Chen Li and Hong Shuling, will personally guide the children on a campus tour, sharing interesting scenes and stories in a storytelling style to inspire young learners.
