Crystal Jade Artistic Hot Spring Hotel settles in Jiaoxi, featuring the largest infinity pool in northern Taiwan

The Crystal Hotels and Regent Hotels Group has created a brand-new boutique hot spring resort hotel in Yilan’s Jiaoxi“Crystal Springs Resort”, integrating numerous local Yilan elements and art into its design from the lobby to the guest rooms. Its most distinctive feature is the largest open-air infinity hot spring pool on the rooftop, offering views of Guishan Island and the Lanyang Plain. For those wanting a private and secluded soak,each room features a semi-open-air hot spring bath, which is another highlight of a stay at Crystal Springs Resort.

Crystal Springs Resort is located on the conveniently accessible Jiaoxi Main Street, designed with the concept of an “oasis in the city.” The exterior of the entire hotel is wrapped in earth-toned lattice work, with simple yet refined black walls that extend from the outside into the interior. The high-ceilinged lobby creates an elegant and tranquil ambiance, completely shielding guests from the hustle and bustle of the city upon entry. Delicate curtains blur the view from the windows, giving guests a sense of safety and seclusion — making it an ideal accommodation choice for those seeking a peaceful and relaxing holiday atmosphere.

The hotel lobby also subtly incorporates natural and cultural art from Yilan. For example, the full lantern wall visible right at the entrance is made from a blend of banana fiber and rice paper. Yan Yishan, deputy manager of marketing and public relations at Crystal Springs Resort, explained that the Kavalan people traditionally used banana fiber to make clothing and daily tools, and this material was introduced to preserve that craft. The large lantern wall not only gives guests a sense of strolling through a garden, but the warm glow also feels like a guiding light, leading travelers back to the comfort of home.

In addition, Crystal Springs Resort collaborates with local artists to showcase the four seasons of Yilan through rotating artworks in the lobby, ensuring a unique experience with each visit. Guests also don’t need to wait at the front desk upon check-in; staff will guide them to a seating area with tea, where they can comfortably sit back, admire the seasonal artwork, and have their check-in procedures handled professionally before receiving their room key — a hallmark of the brand’s attentive service.

Crystal Springs Resort has a total of 122 rooms, divided into two main categories: standard rooms and suites, with areas ranging from 10 to 20 ping. The rooms are designed with warm tones and feature large floor-to-ceiling windows that let natural light flood in. Handcrafted Taiwanese ceramic tiles decorated with orchid petal patterns adorn the walls, bringing a taste of Yilan’s culture and scenery. All guest rooms come with semi-open-air outdoor hot spring tubs, cleverly positioned near the lattice walls to provide privacy and security while still allowing a glimpse of the cityscape below through the gaps — a true highlight of the stay.

The suite designs emphasize spaciousness. Yan Yishan noted that there are three types of suites: Izumi Sui, Izumi Yun, and Izumi On. The Izumi Sui Suite differs from the other two with its Japanese tatami-inspired concept, featuring movable paper doors and a large tatami seating area that offers an open feel while also providing private nooks when the doors are closed.
