Van Gogh’s "Starry Night" Reimagined: Poland’s “Glow-in-the-Dark Road” Made of Tens of Thousands of Phosphorescent Particles

A high-tech road in the northern Polish town of Lidzbark Warmiński has recently garnered significant attention — at night, it can be seen glowing brilliantly. This effect is achieved through synthetic materials that absorb heat from the sun during the day.

According to the UK's Daily Mail,this road is still in the testing phase.This high-tech road is composed of tens of thousands of phosphorescent particles, powered by solar energy. At night, it emits a bright blue glow that is dazzling yet not harsh on the eyes.

The road is primarily divided into two sections: a pedestrian path and a bike lane. Similar designs have been done before in the Netherlands, where a “Starry Night” path was created in honor of painter Van Gogh. Poland’s project takes inspiration from that. The cost of this road has not yet been disclosed, but contractors are researching various methods to reduce expenses and enable the technology to be applied in more areas.
