Release Theme: “ISPO Functional Textiles Trends & Color Card – 2016/17 Autumn/Winter”
One of the goals of the ISPO Functional Textiles Trends Release is to serve as a gateway to future fashion trends. The expo collaborated with trend experts to study various global trends influencing the textile industry and its products. Combined with identified popular colors and five more specific textile trend forecasts, these macro trends provide a clear perspective on what changes future fabrics will bring.
The ISPO BEIJING expo is pleased to take this opportunity to share predictions for the functional textiles industry in the 2016/17 Autumn/Winter season, serving as the foundational guide for the 2015 ISPO Functional Textiles Trends Release. The major trends indicated do not apply to just one specific field but will influence the entire textile chain, all the way to the end consumer. The color card and fabric trends stem from a range of influences, from consumer behavior to the global economic climate. Movies, music, social media, art, and many other activities are reflected in these trends. They form a basic guide that indicates how new developments and innovations in raw material products will be presented, showcased, and emphasized at the 2015 ISPO Functional Textiles Trends Release.
The ISPO Functional Textiles Trends for the 2016/17 Autumn/Winter season present five key trends: “Activation, Duality, Hardcore Materials, Agility, and Electrification,” while the color palette highlights “Positive Nature” as the best-selling main tone, complemented by four new supporting colors: “Artificial Intelligence, Dark Surfaces, Matte, and Synthetic,” giving this color series a distinctive look.
Visitors can not only observe the cutting-edge materials and accessories in the functional textiles industry up close here, but also touch the exhibits to get a direct feel for the fabrics and experience the textile technologies. Designers, R&D personnel, and product managers will gain a wealth of inspiration for design and development directions, and can even use the fabrics displayed on-site as references for sourcing production materials for the next two seasons.
China Sports Fashion Trends Forum – A Forward Look at Fabric Trends
The ISPO expo collaborated with international trend experts who conducted global research on the functional textiles industry and the various trends that influence it. At the previous forum, industry experts such as Ms. Louisa Smith, an international textile trend consultant from the UK, Ms. Lucesca Holmes, a senior sports trend consultant from WGSN, Dr. Hu Junyan from the Department of Textile and Clothing at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and Mr. Lü Rongliang, Greater China Technical Marketing Manager of the Bluetooth SIG, were invited to the event to share insights and predict future innovations and changes in fashion trends within the sports industry.
The new forum will be held as scheduled on January 29 at the China National Convention Center, where trends and forecasts for the application fields of color, materials, and more in China’s sports fashion industry for the coming year will be released and shared. Meanwhile, the “ISPO Functional Textiles Trends Handbook” will also go on sale at the ISPO BEIJING expo site.
