Most people might enjoy a bowl of braised pork rice for just a few coins, but this timeTaipei Marriott Hotel’s Mi Xiang Taiwanese Cuisine Restaurant has launched the “Luxury Vintage-Style Braised Pork Rice Set Meal” priced at NT$800, using premium rice and fresh ingredients to highlight the value of this bowl of braised pork rice.

Speaking of this bowl of braised pork rice, it is personally prepared by national treasure chef Dong Qingqin, who carefully selects champion rice from Lin Longshan in Taitung. It is combined with flavorful stewed Penghu stone frog and black pork, featuring evenly distributed fat that is tender yet not dry. The aromatic black soybean dark soy sauce serves as the perfect finishing touch, instantly elevating the entire bowl of braised pork rice. Of course, the side dishes in the set meal are also nothing short of excellent — there are homemade pickles, daily pan-fried or steamed seasonal fresh fish, as well as one of the classics of vintage flavors: Taiwanese-style cabbage stew. There's also a seafood soup with oysters or clams, and finally, homemade Q-soft roasted pork buns to enrich the experience.
