Winners of the 2014 Global Top Inflight Catering Companies Awards are announced in Santiago, Chile
MONTREAL, March 12, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Are inflight catering companies the best in the world when it comes to quality and safety? At a one-day celebration event held on February 26 at Cousiño Macul winery in Santiago, Chile...n...the winners of the 2014 Awards for the world’s top inflight catering companies were announced. The highest honor of this year’s celebration, the “Platinum Award for Worldwide Excellence,” was awarded to LSG Sky Chefs at Munich Airport (MUC). This marks the first time in two years that a non-Asian inflight catering company has received this prestigious award.
The award was presented by leading global airline and railway operators participating in the Quality and Safety Alliance Inflight Services (QSAI) program, developed and managed by Medina Quality. The award is given across three regions: Asia, the Americas, and Europe/Africa/Middle East. In addition to the Platinum Worldwide winner, gold, silver, and bronze award winners were selected in each region, making up a total of nine awardees. More than 200 catering companies from over 80 countries competed for the award.
Guests attending this year’s celebration were invited to take a sightseeing bus tour of Santiago, followed by a visit to the vineyard and wine tasting at Cousiño Macul.nThey participated in the awards ceremony held on the vineyard grounds, which included a cocktail reception, dinner, and wine pairing.
