2016 Xindian Creek Journey Local Arts Festival — Discover the Beauty of Xindian’s Mountains and Rivers

Xindian District is surrounded by mountains and water, with its stunning natural scenery and rich cultural history attracting many artists and writers. Later, with the development of public transportation routes, even more people are able to easily enjoy the nearby mountains and rivers. Building on the 2015 “Sing for Bi Tan · Waterfront Love” event, the Xindian District Office specially planned the “Xindian Creek Journey” local arts festival in 2016. Centered around Xindian Creek, the festival features a series of activities created through collaboration between government departments, artists, and local residents. It showcases the area's unique character and energy, allowing people of all generations to witness the history and beauty of Xindian Creek and its local culture.

The preparatory series of activities involved recruiting a “Community Exploration Team” to discover Xindian together. Based on the district’s local culture and environmental aesthetics, team members explored new ways to experience the area through hands-on guided tours led by experts and practical workshops on creating community maps, opening up new routes for fun in Xindian.

On the main event day, Saturday, November 12, visitors can enjoy the beauty of the mountains and rivers at Bi Tan Scenic Area on the right bank of Xindian Creek and at Sunshine Sports Park on the left bank. There will be plenty of exciting activities and performances. The public can bring picnic mats and their own food to enjoy music and dance performances at Sunshine Sports Park, or cycle along the surrounding bike paths with the Bicycle Art Street Parade, where beautiful imagery and natural scenery complement each other, adding brilliance to Xindian Creek.
