Travel with the Malayan Tapir (Laimo)! Seibu Railway Launches Japan Rail Pass

To boost awareness of the Japan-exclusive “Seibu Railway Pass (SEIBU RAIL PASS)” for foreign tourists and attract more visitors to Kawagoe, Seibu Railway Co., Ltd. has launched a collaboration campaign with renowned Taiwanese illustrator “LAIMO (the Malayan Tapir)” starting November 4, 2016.

The Seibu Railway Pass is available exclusively to foreign tourists visiting Japan, allowing them to travel round-trip to Kawagoe Station at up to 35% off—making it perfect for those planning to visit Kawagoe as well.

The campaign runs from November 4 through August 31 of the following year. During this period, visitors who show a qualifying ticket at the Kawagoe Station Tourist Information Center or Nakamachi Tourist Information Center will receive an “original Seibu Railway × LAIMO limited-edition gift.” Additionally, special LAIMO (Malayan Tapir) stickers will be displayed at Kawagoe Station to create a new photo spot.

Aside from receiving gifts, travelers can also visit the campaign website (http://www.goodlucktripjapan.jp/special/seibu-laimo/) to download the “Special Fate-Binding Map” and watch an original animated video featuring LAIMO (the Malayan Tapir) traveling by train from Seibu-Shinjuku Station to Kawagoe Station and exploring Kawagoe.
