Located at the border of New Taipei City and Taoyuan City, Datong Mountain and Dadong Mountain boast picturesque scenery, serving as a backyard for nearby residents and a popular spot for dates and night view appreciation. In the past, the wooden boardwalks and rest facilities along the trails were often damaged by wind and rain. Recently, the local government has completed repairs, and clear route signs have been installed to prevent getting lost. Visitors can take advantage of the crisp autumn weather and hike the trails with friends to enjoy the scenery.

Datong Mountain is conveniently close to the city and offers expansive views from its summit, with gentle trails that are easy to access. Whether you're here for the sunrise over the sea of clouds, the sunset, or night views, everything is visible in its full glory. From the Datong Mountain trailhead, it takes about an hour to reach the main peak known as "Qinglong Ridge," named for its shape resembling a sleeping dragon. There’s also a lively small market in the mountains, often attracting crowds of tourists and hikers. In recent years, the local government has planted many cherry blossom trees halfway up the mountain. When the blooming season arrives, hikers are greeted with a shower of petals along the way. On sunny days, sunlight filtering through the trees adds even more vibrancy to the forest path—truly a feast for the eyes.
