The Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau Released – The Peninsula’s Spring Moon Finally Earns a Star

The 9th edition of the Michelin Guide Hong Kong Macau was released on November 9, with a total of 238 restaurants in Hong Kong and 68 in Macau receiving stars. The list of three-star restaurants remains unchanged, with six establishments in Hong Kong, including Lung King Heen, and two in Macau. Four restaurants received their first two-star rating, and seven earned their first one-star, including the Peninsula’s Spring Moon.

The restaurants that received their first two-star rating are “Ta Vie” and “Kashiwaya” in Hong Kong’s Central, Mizumi in Macau, and “Feng Wei Ju,” which serves Hunan and Sichuan cuisines as well as various types of noodles. Chef Hideaki Sato of Ta Vie previously worked at Tenku Ryugin, and after earning one star last year, the restaurant has now been upgraded to two stars. Kashiwaya, which opened in November last year, is a branch of a renowned three-star Japanese Michelin restaurant, and earned two stars on its first appearance on the list.

The restaurants that earned their first one-star rating include Beefbar, Epure, IM Teppanyaka and Wine, Spring Moon, Sushi Tekami, VEA, and The Peninsula Hong Kong’s Eton Hotel (Jordan) in Hong Kong, as well as Lai Heen at The Ritz-Carlton in Macau and sチ??暗塾奥ァat Studio City in Macau. Among them, the Chinese-Western fusion restaurant Lai Heen in Hong Kong has long been favored by many gourmets but had never received a star until this year.
