Travel Center / Comprehensive Report
The world-renowned Massaman Curry, ranked No. 1 on CNN’s list of the world’s 50 best foods, is now available in Taiwan too. Led by Chef Warapon of the Thai restaurant Shang Fang at Banyan Tree Phuket, a one-month guest chef residency at the B-One Buffet Restaurant of Sheraton Taipei Hotel will begin on November 17. Guests can enjoy unlimited servings of Massaman Curry beef shank with coconut milk, tamarind stir-fried shrimp, and larb pork triangular rice cakes, among other delicacies.
The Massaman Curry beef shank with coconut milk dish is made by blending over 20 spices, then combining them with tender beef shank, shallots, and pickled vegetables, served alongside Thai crispy pancakes or steamed rice. The tamarind stir-fried shrimp features sautéed onions for aroma, followed by shrimp stir-fried on high heat to bring out the flavor, then mixed with a tamarind fruit-based sauce and oyster sauce for seasoning, and finally topped with crispy fried garlic.
