Green Green Grassland Gets an Upgrade – Lounge on the Grass Slope to Watch the Sunrise, Have Picnics, and Soak Up the Sun

After adding the longest terrazzo slide in northern Taiwan to Hsinchu City’s Green Green Grassland, the municipal government is now working on renovating the surrounding landscape and advancing an improvement project for the grassland. Mayor Lin Chih-chien stated at the groundbreaking ceremony,that after families slide and take walks together on the grassland, they can also lie on the grass slope for picnics and birdwatching, enjoying a leisurely atmosphere—offering residents of Hsinchu City a brand-new recreational option.

The terrazzo slide in Hsinchu City’s Green Green Grassland has been very popular among visitors, with a single-day record of 8,000 visitors. The August hot air balloon event even attracted over 70,000 people. In response to the grassland’s booming foot traffic, the city government is actively upgrading the surrounding environment through the “Green Green Grassland Recreational Facilities and Landscape Environment Improvement Project.” This includes installing a park signage system, improving the water quality of the ecological pond, enhancing the entrance design, and setting up a grassy viewing slope—all aimed at creating a more comfortable and user-friendly Green Green Grassland. The project is expected to be completed by August next year.
