Activity Plan 1: The First Kindergarten Parent-Child Kite Festival
Activity Overview: In this crisp autumn season, parents and children are invited to make and fly kites together, fully enjoying
the fun of DIY, experiencing the arrival of spring, and creating warm, beautiful memories as their children grow. At the same time, through stories and poems related to kites, they can learn about the excellent traditional culture of the Chinese nation and expand their knowledge.
Target Participants: All parents and children of the kindergarten
Activity Time: March 20, 2018, 9:00–12:00. Activity Process and Content Summary Table:
The above segments can be flexibly adjusted by the kindergarten according to actual conditions.
Awards such as “Best Design Award” and “Best Teamwork Award” can be designed and arranged after the “Kite Flying” activity segment. Detailed Activity Process:
1. Check-in (8:45–9:00)
Check-in can be done by class. Upbeat, spring-themed music can be played on-site to create a lively atmosphere. The kindergarten may prepare in advance by hanging or posting more kite images or written introductions about kites.
2. Meet & Greet (9:00–9:10)
The host first invites parents and children to warm up with a group exercise. Then the host introduces the activity process and the leading teachers for each class.
Suggested Opening Remarks:
Host: Dear parents and children, hello everyone and welcome to the “Soar with Joy, Family Fun – The First Parent-Child Kite Festival of *** Kindergarten”!
Host: To let parents see the children’s wonderful performance, we’ve prepared a morning exercise session.
Host: Wow, everyone did a great job dancing today. But that’s not all—we’re also inviting parents and children to make kites together, and then fly them together.
Host: That’s right. First, we’ll invite representative families from each class to learn some fun stories about kites. Then, each class will make their own kites, and afterward, we’ll go out to fly them. Let’s kick off with our first segment—Kites Are So Fun. Let’s give a warm welcome to the first family. Applause—
Let’s begin the first segment.
3. Kites Are So Fun (9:10–9:40)
Before the activity, communicate with parents in advance so each class selects performing families. The host can provide simple transitions. Small gifts may be given to performing families. After the last family performs, the host announces the next segment.
4. Break & Transition (9:40–9:45)
The kindergarten may organize kite making by class or in the main venue based on actual conditions.
5. Kite DIY Craft Time (9:45–10:30)
Materials are distributed in kits. The kindergarten should prepare gouache paints (thickened). Have cloths and newspapers ready to keep the environment clean.
6. Break (10:30–10:35)
Clean up or transition to the next area.
7. Let’s Fly Kites (10:35–11:30)
Everyone heads outdoors with their kites to start flying them. This segment requires a spacious outdoor area.
8. Activity Conclusion (11:30–12:00)
The host and Star Cat take the stage again to announce the winning family of the day. This segment can be previewed at the beginning of the event. After the on-site award ceremony, the event concludes. The venue may organize a group lunch for all families or end the event directly.
