Looking for a moment of tranquility in the city? Head to the mountains. The Qingfeng (Green Maple) Trail in Zhuzihhu, Taipei City, is a beautiful hidden path that weaves together small bridges, flowing streams, farmland, and forests. At the trailhead near Zhuzihhu, you’ll be greeted by a vista of emerald-green terraced fields by the stream. Follow the babbling brook and vibrant floral clusters across the fields, then continue on with a light heart as you step into the green maple forest. Immerse yourself in the dense canopy and the refreshing experience of being surrounded by phytoncides.

The Bureau of Urban Development stated that within the green maple forest, low wooden boardwalks are used to weave through the area. This approach not only preserves the original landform and vegetation but also minimizes the impact on the local soil, water, and wildlife. Walking along these wooden paths feels like floating above a sea of green. The gentle sounds of leaves swaying in the breeze soothe a restless mind. There’s also a circular platform in the woods where you can lean on the railing and gaze down at the forest, offering yet another unique perspective.

Chen Yancheng, head of the Roads and Trails Section, said that the Zhuzihhu area has its own unique charm in each season. From March to May, the season is marked by the blooming of pure white calla lilies. From May to August, it’s the turn of hydrangeas, which display a colorful and ever-changing palette. Now, as autumn transitions into winter, walking along the Qingfeng Trail allows you to enjoy the idyllic rural landscape, as well as the beautiful sight of green maple leaves gradually changing color. Make the most of your leisure time and take a relaxing stroll along the Qingfeng Trail.
